Badia in Passignano
Tenuta Tignanello
Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione is produced exclusively from the selection of the best Sangiovese grapes from the homonymous estate located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region.
The region has been renowned for wine production since 1000 AD. The vineyards lie on limestone-rich soil with an average supply of clay at an altitude of around 300 metres above sea level.
Refinement takes place in the historic cellars of the 10th century Badia di Passignano Castle.

Winemaking
After careful hand harvesting, the best grapes are pressed and placed in stainless steel vats for 7 days for fermentation.
The wine will remain in contact with the must for another two weeks. Badia a Passignano Riserva is a vintage produced exclusively from Sangiovese from the estate of the same name.
It rests in barrels, but also in large 500/700 litre casks for a maturation period of around 14 months, then 12 months in bottles.
